A birthday gift

Hey everyone!!!

So...how is your Saturday going? I am having a great day so far. I have to go and get ready soon because my hubby's brother is having a b-day today and we are going out with he and his wife pretty soon. Either way hubby and bil are bffs and they are always joking and teasing each other. While hubby and I were at a recent trip to the dollar tree we saw this mug and I said, "hey I can etch that." To which brought a smile to hubby's face and a light bulb went off. lol So Here is what his idea was he wanted to harass his older brother. Eh these men. So here is today's project. This was my first attempt at glass etching and I THINK...I'm in love. Seriously this mug looks so professional and expensive. Not to toot my own horn or anything but toot toot!
It's totally a gag gift I'm sure he will use it to drink coke out of but it's funny lol!
This is what it looks like as a present! He loves chocolate!
Any advice on how to take pictures of glass, bring it on!
Here's a list of What was used:
Cricut-Birthday Cakes
Embellishments-twine and red ribbon for the bow
Tools-Glass etching cream! I LOVE this stuff.
Pink silhouette Vinyl that I picked up on sale at HL

Thanks for looking yall! :)

Crazy About Cricut

This was beyond fun! Jenny Over at Crazy About Cricut asked the DT to make something for Halloween/Fall that involves family. We are all about Family Fridays. We actually do our Family Evenings on Fridays! So this fit in soooo nicely. So here is what the kids and I created with our Cricut. Please go over to Jennys blog and see what the other fabulous DT members created for you this week.

The kids designed their entire bags with the design studio. Each one got to make something to match their outfit. So we followed the directions that we found on one of my most favorite blogs Joy's Life. And we made these bags they were super easy to make and oh so much fun. The kids were grinning from ear to ear just because they did it all on their own with a little ironing help from mom! Thanks everyone for coming by and here is a video detailing exactly what was done. If it doesnt show you can always go to the direct link Here

Please go over to Jennys blog and see what the other fabulous DT members created for you this week.

P.S. If you visit yesterdays post you will see the amazing blog hop and all of the awesome stuff the designers created for you. P.S.S. There are some great prizes to win. Click Here

Sports Related

Hey everyone! I had a chance to go to some of your bloggies yesterday and you all have some awesome stuff posted! WOW I love visiting blogs that inspire me. While doing some looking around I saw that Emma Over at My Creative Time has a great challenge going on right now. I don't have too much time to play these days so I figured I would try and get something up really quickly. You all have to go over and see what she made SUPER TALENTED THAT LADY!!!
This is a team that my hubby coached when he was 18 or something like that. He has been a basketball coach for many many years now lol. Either way it was just sitting in a picture box and I found this the perfect opportunity to display it. So display it I did. Let me know what you all think.

Here's a list of What was used:
Cricut- Birthday Cakes (I love this cart) and Everyday Paper Dolls
Ink- brown, purple and yellow all stampin up and I don't want to go downstairs to get the names sorry y'all. Paper-All stuff from my stash Okay I also have a confession; I am a paper hoarder! I don't use paper because it is too pretty. So I'll be working on that! YES I have TOOO much paper and it needs to get used. Thanks for looking yall!
P.S. I'm not sure if I will come back with a project and challenge for this week because my mail man still hasn't shown up. I have something awesome for you all but its not here yet!!ERRRRR.

OH WOW!!!!!

Okay first and foremost I want to say I like the updates to BLOGGER! NICE. It will make it a whole lot easier to do tutorials on here. Hey that's a great idea. How about a tutorial. It's my first so go easy on me.

Okay so my daughter put the word birthday in design studio. We made sure to center it in the middle because I was going to let my daughter help and I didn't want the outside line to be really close to the cut letters.

Then...we put Freezer paper on the cricut mat and taped the edges with painters tape. I always do this just because I hate cutting more than once and this pretty much ensures my paper wont slip

Bought the color of my daughters choice from Hobby Lobby...
Placed the word birthday where I wanted it on the shirt. P.S. My daughter designed the entire thing herself in Design Studio
I didn't take a picture of me ironing it on but using the glossy side down in both the cutting mat and the shirt ensures it will look good. So what you will do is iron the "stencil" onto your shirt. I had to place my iron on the highest setting before it would stick.
And then I let my baby girl paint away!
The first one was super easy but I made some mistakes along the way. In an effort to keep the scrap room clean I asked baby girl to throw the unused letters away and...we threw away the insides of the b and d! We placed some cardboard on the inside of the shirt and thank goodness because we glopped on the birthday purple and it bled through.
The lighting isn't the best on this one because I had to use the flash. It takes 4 hours for each coat to dry and we started the shirt at noon. The shirt is still a tad damp. But this is the final project. I think it came out GREAT for our first attempt. And I think the girls and I have a new addiction. I mean thing we like. hehe Tomorrow is my baby girls 6th birthday and this will be her shirt that she will wear to school. I think we have a new family tradition.

A few more things I forgot to mention...IT GLOWS IN THE DARK!! I think that's our favorite part.

Please visit Joy's blog she is where I got the entire idea! She has the best ideas ever for your cricut. So if you  haven't checked her blog out you need to go NOW. She is awesome!

P.S. I will be having a challenge for the entire month of October for GREAT prizes by my favorite stamp company...HINT HINT PKS!!!!! SO look out for that.

Dino-Mite

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this new cart. I found it for a great price and I had to pick it up. I didn't actually know that you could use the cricut cake cartridges for paper but you can! Here is a quick card I made. I love that it has sentiments on it. Although I'm sure we could always make our own sentiments cant we. Oh well I forget sometimes and use the easy way out. Here it is...

Just super simple eh! But I'm lovin' it. I used Birthday Cakes.
