Flip for Piggies

LOL Yeah I have no idea why I posted that as the title either. It sounded good at the time and the more I played it out in my head it just doesn't totally fit. Ah. Too late.

So how are you all on this beautiful day? I kinda love Mondays. Did I tell you?!? Yeah I do! So today I'm going to show you something that I uber love! Have you seen the new adorable paper piecing file by Nikki called Piggin' Out? First let me tell you I had this really cool idea and it came out differently than I planned. I was going to make the hot dog from the file too but I messed it the sizing and it came out sooo much  bigger than the pig. LOL It looked pretty silly. Well lesson learned that's what happens when you aren't paying attention. So I ended up keeping the adorable piggie and making her vault. Can you tell? I hope so lol.

Here's a list of What was used:
Cameo- Piggin out File
Ink- Basic Black (Stampin Up)
Embellishments- Twine (thetwinery.com)
Stamps- Hooray (Jaded Blossom) Miscellaneous Fun
Tools- Crop a dile, standard hole punch, word window punch and fancy label punch (stampin up)
Paper- Dots & Stripes – Candy Shoppe (Echo Park), solid cardstock (Stampin up)
Adhesive- ATG and dimensionals 3L

Thank you all so much for stopping by! I hope you have the best week!!!

Jaded Blossom Blog Hop!

What do you think of when you think of teachers? Today is the last day of teacher appreciation week and its just so happens to also be the Jaded Blossom Blog Hop. Please head on over there once you are finished up here. ;)

So back to my original question; what do you think of when you think of teachers? I recently had the pleasure of going to the PTA convention for our state and I have to say WOW I learned a lot. I mean I know teachers do a ton and I know most of them are amazing at what they do but I think I really didnt give it as much thought as I do now. My mom has been a special education teacher for the last 20 years and still not so much thought about it.

So when my sister told me that her son didnt want her giving his teachers a present I said with a rather harsh tone, "who cares if he gets embarrased those teachers are with our kids 6-8 hours a day they deserve something special." My sister and I can talk to eachother like that because we know that we mean no harm so she made him something. AND he was estatic about receiving it! YUP appreciate those teachers yall they are SOOO Important to our "better America". Okay jumping off my soap box. ;)

Here is one project we made for one of my kiddos teachers!!!!

Here's a list of What was used:
Ink- Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Embellishments- Paper Trey Ink Button, Yellow twine
Tools- 1 3/4" Circle punch, 2" circle punch
Paper- Hello Summer by Echo Park
Adhesive- ATG and dimensionals

Be sure to jump back over to Jaded Blossom to follow along on the hop. ;)

Jaded Baby

Hi everyone! I am so excited to show you this little card I made. Its a tri fold card also known as a z or s card...

Basically all you do it take a 8 x 11 (cut off the extra .5 on the 8.5" side) sheet of heavy weight card stock. I used Paper trey ink. With your cutter slice it down the middle making it 4 x 11. This will actually now make 2 cards. Now you are going to use your score pal or something similar and score your card at 4" and 6" now fold it out like an accordion. Next I took a piece of 3 3/4" x 3 1/2" paper and placed it in the inside.
For the front I used a piece of paper measuring 3" x 2 1/2" (pink square) and down below I used a piece of 3 3/4" x 1 1/4" paper and layered it on the bottom half.

Then I cut out this adorable svg from Paper Piecing By Nikki and stamped a Peachy Keen Face on it.

The cutie pie sentiment couldn't have been more perfect!
without further ado...
I wanted her to look like she is sitting on a blanket. Kinda love those buttons too.
The cutie pie stamp set I used for today is called Babies & Weddings.
Thank you all so much for stopping by. I LOVE reading your comments and just adore that you stopped by so thank you so much for all your love and support!

Don't judge me I have a compulsive reaction when I hear SALE!!!

Anyhow guess what I made late last night. Like at 1 AM in the morning after I got home and put things away from the big bash. (Clarification: when I say "put away" I mean everything was placed nicely on the living room table. ;)

Oh I just simply adore this little guy/girl! ;)

Jaded Blossom~Funny Mail

HEYYYYY!!! So today I am IN VEGAS!!! Yeah I know its pretty dog gone awesome if you ask me. Our beautiful LOBOS just won the Mountain West conference and we couldn't be prouder so we are going to the state they won in to show them some love. LOL totally not true we've had this vacation planned for a few months but...well anyway!

I am super excited to share a project with you today...

Okay so you know how Smash books are all the rage these days? Okay maybe that's just me but they are pretty awesome. I actually just recently bought one. I LOVE the concept behind them and I wanted the kids to have something similar for our trip to Vegas this week.

Here let me show you the cover and then I'll fill you in on what I did.

Super quick and easy. The kids got to help a LOT on this one!!! LOVE THAT!

Okay so you know when you get a pack or set of 12x12 pattern paper? Well it normally comes with one sheet of this thicker cardboard right? Yeah it does, you'll have to just trust me on this one. So what I did was I took it and cut it into 4 6x6 pieces. Yeah super original I know ;) I took the two pieces and painted on the front using white acrylic paint. Actually I kinda let the kids do this part. (Family projects and all) Then I found some fun chip board that wasnt being used and plastered that on there; again the chillins did this part. Man I'm taking the credit for all of their hard work. Next up and the perfect finishing touch IMO is the beautiful Lips from the Funny Mail set! (I betcha wanna know who stamped the lips don't cha?) I think this is my most loved set. ;)

Then I used paper from my stash. Since I wanted this to be asexual I had to add both masculine and feminine colors so I just cut what I had into 6x6 squares. Most of the scraps ended up being 3x6 those were added as well. And then I also found some envelopes (mostly the ones that come in the mail with BILLS) and added those.

Since I'm new to the whole bind-it-all thing (and I was trying to be cheap) I only punched 6 holes. Totally regret that now because it will only stand like this. Note to self (or anyone else who just got the bia) make more holes!

But I truly believe that those lips make is just perfect!!! Thanks yall so much for stopping by. I hope you are all having a great week! ;)

Jaded Blossom Monthly Challenge #1

Oh my goodness I am super dooper excited to show you all today's project! Jaded Blossom which is a fabulous company has decided to start monthly challenges. I LOVE this idea because it gives us (all of us creative folk who use Jaded Blossom stamps) the opportunity to all come together to share our love of these little gems and show them off. I CAN NOT wait to see what you all create.

This month the challenge is to Create something for Valentines day also your project must include at least one Jaded Blossom stamp. I simply love this idea so without further ado here is my project for this week.

This project was inspired by Pinterest! LOVE Pinterest.
Directions:
Using the Cone Bags from JB I filled up the bottom of the bag with about 1 cup of hot cocoa mix. Next using a buttering brush I dusted away the excess that clung to the top part of the bag. Once it was cleaned out I added heart shaped sprinkles. Then added about a handful of marshmallows. (If you don't clean the cone after putting in the hot cocoa mix your marshmallows will turn brown.) I tied up the top with a little bit of twine punched out a scalloped circle (Stampin up) and then a 1 1/2" circle (Stampin up) and stamped the beautiful Valentine Treats stamp set in the center.

That's it! I can't wait to see what you all make for the challenge. Please come on over HERE and play along with us!!!! ;)
